Ramsey Welcomes Brothers Barbecue

The Farella brothers, owners of Brothers Barbecue in New Windsor, New York, are opening a new location in Ramsey. The restaurant and bar specializes in freshly smoked meat dishes, inspired by the Eastern Carolina cooking the three brothers enjoyed during summers in Beaufort, North Carolina, growing up. The brick and wood interior and Southern-style entrees lend to its rustic feel. Their freshly smoked meats include pulled pork, ribs, brisket, chicken and sausage. The menu boasts a range of items, including a Southern fried pickles appetizer and the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich entree. Brothers Barbecue will be open every day but Monday for lunch and dinner and will offer a Sunday brunch with complimentary coffee or tea.

Gio’s Gelato & Espresso Bar in Franklin Lakes

Gio’s Gelato & Espresso Bar opened its doors in Franklin Lakes earlier this summer. Located in Franklin Crossing, Gio’s has quickly become a gelato hot spot in the area. Offering signature rich gelato with flavors like Tiramisu and Unicorn in addition to classics like chocolate, lemon and strawberry, specialty flavors are announced weekly. Gelato, an Italian dessert staple, is smoother and creamier than ice cream with less fat. Among their coffee specialties is affogato, an Italian coffee-based dessert, a scoop of gelato topped with a shot of hot espresso. Gio’s Gelato is open every day.
