Ridgewood High School seniors from the Class of 2019 walked the runway at the Teaneck Marriott recently, modeling the latest fashion trends from local vendors. A red carpet event, the theme was award shows—think Oscars, Emmys and Teen Choice—and the day featured live and silent auctions. Funds raised went toward the class's Project Graduation 2019 Fund.
Danson Jewelers in Allendale recently hosted a Ladies Valentine's Night Out where a portion of the proceeds was donated to the Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc in Oakland. The Valley Hospital Auxiliary hosted its 72nd Annual Valley Ball late last year with more than 340 guests in attendance in their finest black-tie attire. Themed "An Unforgettable Night," the event, held at the Legacy Castle in Pompton Plains, raised more than $200,000 for children’s programs at the hospital. The Saddle River Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary held its 16th Annual Holiday Luncheon & Boutique at the Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus in December. Guests gathered for lunch and to shop with featured area vendors. Proceeds from the event benefit the Auxiliary's $1.4 million pledge to Valley programs.
The Quest Autism Program, a community-based day program for adults with autism, recently held its annual Harvest Ball at The Rockleigh Country Club in Rockleigh, New Jersey. Quest participants, staff, participants, families, friends and sponsors gathered for a festive evening which included cocktails, dinner and a silent auction.
Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge in Oakland held Pit Bulls & Pumpkins, their annual fall festival at the end of October which gathered more than 150 people, including families with pets adopted from them and pets available for adoption. Activities included pumpkin painting and crafts for kids, family photos and live music.
The Unbridled Heroes Project, run by military veterans Mark and Amy Steppe, opened its doors in Allendale to rescued horses who have been abused and neglected. They also work with the horses to help aid fellow veterans in the process of healing after war. They partnered with CZ Mustangs, an organization which rescues and rehabilitates American Mustangs.
