Stormy skies didn't dampen the spirits at the 12th annual Waldwick 5K run and 1-mile walk held on Cinco de Mayo this year. The scenic course included the Waldwick Borough Park, finishing at the new high school track. Live music and good food were on tap for all.
The newly formed Saddle River Arts Council held "An Evening of Giving Back" recently at the estate of Drs. Fred and Brooke Rezvani where award-winning musician Eric Genius performed with fellow distinguished musicians. Ridgewood High School seniors from the Class of 2019 walked the runway at the Teaneck Marriott recently, modeling the latest fashion trends from local vendors. A red carpet event, the theme was award shows—think Oscars, Emmys and Teen Choice—and the day featured live and silent auctions. Funds raised went toward the class's Project Graduation 2019 Fund.

The Valley Hospital Auxiliary hosted its 72nd Annual Valley Ball late last year with more than 340 guests in attendance in their finest black-tie attire. The Saddle River Branch of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary held its 16th Annual Holiday Luncheon & Boutique at the Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus in December. Guests gathered for lunch and to shop with featured area vendors. Proceeds from the event benefit the Auxiliary's $1.4 million pledge to Valley programs.
The Quest Autism Program, a community-based day program for adults with autism, recently held its annual Harvest Ball at The Rockleigh Country Club in Rockleigh, New Jersey. Quest participants, staff, participants, families, friends and sponsors gathered for a festive evening which included cocktails, dinner and a silent auction.
Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge in Oakland held Pit Bulls & Pumpkins, their annual fall festival at the end of October which gathered more than 150 people, including families with pets adopted from them and pets available for adoption. Activities included pumpkin painting and crafts for kids, family photos and live music.
